What do the different Qboon card types mean?

Card types serve different purposes. Check the product or programme details rather than assuming every Qboon card works the same way.

  • Gift voucher: a gift card with a set value for spending with the named brand.
  • Discount card: applies a percentage discount through the merchant's card programme.
  • Top-up card: a reloadable card offered through a merchant's own programme, where customers add money at the till.
  • Coupon card: a separate card type in the merchant system. Ask support to confirm the value and usage rules for the specific programme.
  • Multi-brand marketplace card: lets the recipient choose from available brands in the wallet before using the resulting brand codes.

Merchant reloadable programmes are distinct from gift cards sold on the Qboon shop: shop gift cards carry a fixed value and cannot be topped up. Participating brands, expiry and redemption channels depend on the card. If you are setting up a programme, tell support what you want customers to be able to do.
